SeaWind Adventures
SeaWind Adventures offers active sailing trips to the most extraordinary and often remote places in the world. We love sailing between deserted islands and finding our way through narrow, glacier-carved fjords. We set course for the polar regions, make a warming stopover on a volcanic island, and take the time to enjoy the peace and space at sea.
People who sail with us experience how unique it is to sail with a small group (maximum 6 people + 2 crew) through areas that can sometimes only be reached by ship. We make sure everyone feels safe and at home on board quickly. As guest crew, you help with hoisting and lowering the sails, steering, and docking. Meanwhile, you enjoy the beautiful surroundings and life on board. The atmosphere is informal yet professional.

EXPLORE | EXPERIENCE | ENJOY
Explore, experience, and enjoy is the motto of our sailing trips. And of course, we want to keep doing that—together with you—for as long as possible. For us, it is therefore a matter of course that we carry out our trips as sustainably as possible. Specifically, for us, this means:
- we strive to only use the wind to sail from one place to another and take this into account in our sailing schedule.
- we treat nature with care and keep an appropriate distance from animals so that we do not disturb them in their habitat.
- we cook 100% vegan and try to put as many sustainably and organically grown products on the table as possible.
- we maintain a conscious purchasing policy for our sailing trips, use no disposable items, and try to bring as little packaging material on board as possible.
- we leave nothing behind that does not belong in nature.
- we are economical with water, electricity, and fuel, and ask our guests to compensate for their potential outbound and return flights on a voluntary basis via the Dutch foundation Trees for all.
During the refit of the Baltic, we naturally took a close look at the entire ship. In doing so, we tried to make as many things on board as sustainable as possible. You can read about the choices we made in this extensive blog: Sustainability on board the Baltic.
Sail with us! Because the world has countless beautiful places to offer that we would love to show you. In recent years, we have sailed from Spitsbergen to Antarctica—via the rugged Lofoten, the rías of Galicia, the remote Fernando de Noronha archipelago, and straight through mysterious Patagonia. But the thousands of Swedish and Finnish islands, the trio of Jersey, Guernsey & Alderney (and Sark!), and the sun-drenched Azores have also stolen our hearts.

Who are Marijn & Annet?
SeaWind Adventures is a company owned by Marijn and Annet Achterkamp, who together have over 25 years of sailing experience, from kolibrie (6 meters) to tall ship (50 meters), from the Wadden Sea to the Polar Seas (and just about everything in between). In 2014, we met while sailing along the Norwegian coast (how could it be otherwise?). Driven by our passion for sailing and rugged areas, SeaWind Adventures was born in 2015. Three years later, we bought our own ship: the Baltic. After a serious refit of the ship, we now sail together to remote areas and beautiful corners of the world.

Born and raised in the Frisian lake district, water was never far away during my youth. Yet it only grabbed me when one of my fellow students organized a sailing camp. From 2002 onwards, I regularly sailed actively on various ships, including to the Lofoten, Elba, Saint Vincent & the Grenadines, Antarctica, and Spitsbergen. I enjoyed life at sea so much that in 2012 I decided to go to the Enkhuizen Maritime College so that I could also start sailing professionally.
Since then, I have worked part-time as crew on various sailing ships. In different stages, I sailed the entire route from Spitsbergen (80°N) to Antarctica (64°S) and saw nothing but sea for weeks, but also the most fantastic coasts gliding by! In 2015, I obtained my worldwide Mate’s license, with over 20,000 nautical miles now under my belt.

I have been sailing since I was a child. In a small dinghy, I went all through Friesland, and later I switched to a cabin sailing yacht, with which I explored the IJsselmeer, the beautiful Wadden Sea, and the North Sea coast.
It was always clear to me that I would also do something professional with sailing and, after sailing as a mate on a clipper on the Wadden Sea for a while, I went for it. The training at the Enkhuizen Maritime College took me further out to sea, and after a good number of sea days and miles, I made a trip above the Arctic Circle in Norway. Once I saw the rugged, deserted coasts of Northern Norway, I realized these were the areas where I wanted to sail. After getting my worldwide Mate’s license, I went back to the Enkhuizen Maritime College in 2016 and obtained the Master Oceangoing Sailing Vessels diploma.
