On board, you’ll encounter a good number of lines (or ropes), and if you’re lucky, they’ll all be different colors. That already makes it much easier to recognize them after a while. But then there are the knots… Bowline, Clove Hitch, Sheet Bend. The video below clearly explains the most commonly used knots on board. You’ll see, in order:
- Reef Knot
- Clove Hitch (handy if you already know this one!)
- Sheet Bend and Double Sheet Bend
- Bowline
- Figure-Eight Knot
- Round Turn and Two Half Hitches
- Clove Hitch with a Forehand Knot
So, rope in hand, and get knotting!
P.S.: Turn on the subtitles, mute the sound, and find some nice music to go with it 😉
