Norway is one of our favorite destinations. Because of the impressive nature, the deep fjords, snowy mountains and rugged islands. The Norwegians themselves have long realized that their country offers a unique landscape. And that you have to take good care of it.<\/p>\n

In Norway (and Sweden too) the so-called ‘everyone’s right’ applies, which means that nature belongs to everyone and that you can set up your tent or roll out your sleeping bag everywhere. The coastline, forests and mountain areas are ‘free nature’ and by law freely accessible to everyone. And the great thing is, this everyone’s right at the same time ensures that everyone also feels responsible for nature.<\/p>\n

Sustainability<\/h2>\n

Partly because of this shared responsibility, Norway is one of the countries that attaches great importance to sustainability. Several regions and nature reserves bear the ‘Sustainable Destination’ label. This means that local entrepreneurs are committed to making and keeping their region attractive for tourists who consider sustainability important. They commit themselves to strict, sustainable principles, organize environmentally friendly activities and prefer ‘planet’ to ‘profit’.<\/p>\n

The Lyngen Alps<\/a>, just above Troms\u00f8, are allowed to call itself a \u2018Sustainable Destination\u2019 since quite a while.<\/span> The archipelagos of Lofoten and Vester\u00e5len<\/a>, the northern archipelago Spitsbergen\/Svalbard and the Troms\u00f8 region have also received the coveted sustainability label in recent years.
